- As a war rages on in the province of Bougainville in Papua New Guinea, a young girl becomes transfixed by the Charles Dickens novel Great Expectations, which is being read at school by the only white man in the village.
- Aliko & Ambai is a feature film about two young women facing the challenges of growing up in the beautiful Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. The challenges are significant: tribal conflict, poverty, bullying, domestic violence,and forced marriage. Aliko struggles to complete her education and Ambai searches to escape her abusive home and reunite with her biological father. They navigate the many obstacles in their lives and endeavour to build brighter futures for themselves, supported by the strength of friendship. Produced by the Centre for Social and Creative Media (CSCM) at the University of Goroka in Papua New Guinea, the film is a successful example of participatory filmmaking. The story was developed and written by young PNG writers and was produced with a cast and crew drawn from local communities. Aliko & Ambai has become a popular viral media phenomenon among young people in PNG with copies being shared via flash drives and cell phones. Posts on Facebook and feedback screenings have demonstrated that young audiences are deeply affected by this story that shows the beauty and the pain of contemporary indigenous experience in Melanesia. The film aims to inspire the current generation of young people to overcome the obstacles in their lives, and persevere to reach their goals and fulfil their aspirations.

What Lies That Way documents a personal journey into a realm of creativity and spirituality that only a few have entered. The film follows Paul Wolffram on his return to the isolated rain forest community in Papua New Guinea that hosted him 10 years earlier. Paul has returned determined to enter the dangerous initiation process of the Buai shaman cult. In a remote area of the forest, Toanati, the oldest living Buai shaman gives Paul the initiation substances and he is left to fast without food or water for four days and nights. The Buai promises access to enhanced creative power but the initiation also risks exposure to seductive darker powers. As the fasting progresses the barriers between the realms of perception are dissolved and we are taken deep into the spiritual encounter. - Every year, a ritual known as ida is performed by the Umeda people, who inhabit the dense primary forest of the Waina-Sawanda district of West Sepik, Papua New Guinea. Ida, the central social and cultural drama of the Umeda, is a fertility ritual, in which a dominant theme is the metamorphosis of the cassowaries. An ethnography by anthropologist Alfred Gell, Metamorphosis of the Cassowaries, complements the film.
