- Following a protracted manhunt, Federal Police Investigator Nora Weiss is finally able to track down and arrest Karl Strasser, a suspected sex offender. However, Strasser is released again the next day due to a procedural error. At the same time, a bomb attack kills a well-respected Syrian doctor at a Lübeck hospital. Together with her colleague Simon Brandt from the local Lübeck police, Nora is faced with extreme time pressure to establish whether the killing constitutes a terror attack.
- Nora's boss, Kurt Böhnisch, is retiring. Then he takes his own life during his retirement party. A woman's body is found in Lübeck not long after his death, and Nora discovers similarities to an unsolved murder in Rostock. Böhnisch had searched there for his daughter Jasmin, but to no avail. She had lived in Rostock and disappeared without a trace two years ago. Could she have been the victim of a crime as well?
- Investigator Nora and her new coworker Ben investigate the case of Peter Marquart, a Lübeck psychology professor found murdered in his home. Their first lead takes them to Jessica, a 16-year-old schoolgirl who posts revealing pictures and videos of herself on her fee-based website. Not long after, a nursery school administrator is murdered. When the investigators delve into the past of the two victims, the case takes on a whole new dimension.
- While alleged child murderer Matthias Mattner is able to flee from his trial in Lübeck, LKA inspector Nora Weiss is having a personal nightmare. On the ferry from Latvia to Lübeck her 9-year old godchild Daina disappears. But she doesn't have much time to look for her as the case is given to her supervisor Jan Geissler. Nora is put on the case of the fugitive Mattner. She also has to make do with her new colleague Simon Brandt. Nora reopens the case of another disappeared girl, Lisa Harms, and contacts her parents. She finds it hard to keep a professional attitude. Intuitively, she suspects a connection between Mattner's case and Daina's case, but she has no evidence.
- The body of a bus operator from Lübeck is found in a parked car, in front of Nora's house of all places. Is this a message from the murderer? Together with Inspector Simon Brandt from the CID she investigates the social circles of the victim, Thorsten Jensen. A young Turkish employee of the victim, Murat Kaymaz, has been on the run since the night of the crime and looks likely to leave the country. But suspicions are also raised with regard to former coach driver Niels Franke. Nora finds more and more evidence that Thorsten Jensen and Murat Kaymaz have more in common than just their job, and that Jensen was involved in illegal activities with his bus company. The case seems to have a greater dimension than initially thought. Eventually, Simona and Nora need the help of Nora's supervisor Jan Geissler with whom Nora often argues, and with whom she is involved in a secret affair.
- Having just celebrated the successful completion of a manhunt, special investigator Nora Weiss and her colleague Jan Geissler are confronted by Bavarian Member of Parliament Monika Landau. Landau is on a family holiday on the Baltic and is trying to find her husband Patrick who went missing while on a boat trip. When the experienced sailor's body washes up on the beach the next day, Nora and her colleague Simon Brandt from the Lübeck Police Homicide Department start investigating the victim's past to find out what might have happened to him.
- A sexual predator, whom Nora Weiss was able to arrest after a long search, is released from prison because of a formal error. At the same time, a Syrian doctor dies from a bomb.
