James Millican was born on 17 February 1910 in Palisades, New Jersey, USA. He was an actor, known for Winchester '73 (1950), The Man from Laramie (1955) and I Died a Thousand Times (1955). He was married to Dorothy Eleanor Gumbrell. He died on 24 November 1955 in Los Angeles, California, USA.- Music Department
Composer, arranger, orchestrator, author, pianist and educator, educated at the Vienna Conservatory. He studied with Julius Epstein, Emil Sauer, Stephen Stocker, and R. Fuchs. In 1907, he headed the piano department at the Wichita College of Music while continuing his career as a concert pianist (1906-1916). He taught master classes in composing and composition from 1931 to 1936, and then continued as a music educator while joining Hollywood studios' music departments as an orchestrator and arranger. He authored "The Modern Pianist's Text Book". (See "Other Works" for a list of his compositions.)
