This "movie" is a special kind of bad. But, is it so bad that it's good? Check out my review to find out!

"Freddy Got Fingered" (2001), over the years, I've heard things about this "film". Both good and bad things, but mostly bad. Out of curiosity, I decided to see it for myself. At first, I debated whether I wanted to buy it on DVD or not. However, one day when I looked through the TV guide, I noticed that it was going to be on TV one night. So, I decided to watch it that way. After seeing it, I have only one thing to say: "what in God's name did I just watch?" This "movie" has a chaotic and very poorly executed storyline, overall just terrible acting, and an abysmal soundtrack. The storyline, or lack thereof is, an unemployed man named Gordon "Gord" Brody, played by Tom Green, wants to head to Los Angeles to pursue his ambition of obtaining a contract for an animated TV series. That sounds as basic a plot as you can get. "Basic" is the keyword for this very thin plot line. Seriously, it's thrown out the window within the first 30 minutes and forgotten about for the rest of the "film". Throughout this "movie", it's nothing but an onslaught of lame jokes, slapstick and substantial gross-out humor. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for gross-out humor. I love that type of comedy done right. But, in the case of this "film", it's just relentless. To the point where you feel uncomfortable! You just have to force yourself to laugh in spite of yourself. Granted, there are a few funny parts here and there. However, the funniest part of the whole "film" is a scene where a person in an audience holds up a giant sign that says: "WHEN THE F*** IS THIS MOVIE GOING TO END?" That was the biggest genuine laugh I had while watching this "movie". Honestly, it was truly the last thing I expected to see. I love fourth-wall breaks, and that has found a spot on my top ten all-time favorite fourth-wall breaks in cinema. If only the rest of this "film" was that good! As far as the acting goes, it's just as terrible as the plot. Tom Green does put effort into his performance, but it just wasn't sufficient enough. The best performance in this "movie" is given by Rip Torn. He seemed to be the only one who was trying. All the rest of the actors and actresses simply fell short. Finally, the soundtrack is nothing short of a disaster. It matches the tone of the "film", inconsistent! There are a few good parts, but as a whole, it's just horrible and random. In that way, the film score does work. But, it's just nothing to write home about. The only good things are the sets/locations and the special effects. All of the sets/locations are great and give this "movie" a decent atmosphere. All of the special effects are very well-done and still hold up to this day. However, the reality is, great sets/locations and special effects are no excuses for a poorly executed script. "Freddy Got Fingered" is an absolute train wreck from beginning to end. The only thing that keeps it from finding a place on my worst films of all-time list, is the fact that it made me laugh a few times. Had it not been for that, I would have considered putting it somewhere on my worst movies list, or at the very least, a dishonorable mention! Here's a fun fact for you all, Tom Green wanted to make this "movie" bad on purpose. Well, he definitely succeeded with that! I'm giving this "film" 2 out of 5 stars on my personal scale, which equates to 4 out of 10 IMDB stars. Unless you want to lower your intelligence, stay away from this "film". If you see it, you'll just wind up being fingered yourself!
