Suckers (2024)
2/10
Seriously...?
17 April 2025
Of course I had never heard about this 2024 horror comedy titled "Suckers" from directors Brandon Morson and Kenny Pettis Jr. Prior to stumbling upon it here in 2025. And given my love of all things horror, of course I had to check it out. Sure, I didn't know what I was getting myself into here, so the directors virtually had every opportunity to entertain and impress me.

Writer Kenny Pettis Jr. Put together a script and storyline that fell entirely short of entertaining me. I found no enjoyment or entertainment in suffering through 66 minutes of watching this. I have to say that a movie about social media influencers, which is just a fancy way of saying freeloaders, never really stood a snowball's chance in Hell. But at least writer Kenny Pettis Jr. Managed to get the fact that social media influencers are not the brightest of persons right.

Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie. I can't claim that I was overly impressed with the performances put on. Sure, I've seen worse, but don't get your hopes up here. There is enough Botox on the screen to last a lifetime.

The music in the movie was terrible.

As for "Suckers" being a horror comedy? Well, I get that the comedy was the fact that this movie even made it from idea board to actual film. But as for the horror, well I suppose watching freeloaders on the screen sort of is horror.

Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time, money or effort on this dumpster fire of a movie.

My rating of directors Brandon Morson and Kenny Pettis Jr.'s 2024 movie "Suckers" lands on a very, very generous two out of ten stars. It would have landed a staggering one star, had it not been for the production value actually lifting it up to a two star rating.
