I spend a lot of my movie watching life pointing out bad casting, silly scenarios etc. But for this one I decided to take it for what it was. The idea a dead person can come back to life is ridiculous anyway.... I could pick holes in it's casting and character believability and some things in the said scenario were quite silly, but hey it's a zombie movie.
The attention to detail wasn't bad either if you like that sort of thing. This was fun and considering the genre, very good. Definitely an 8/10 for what it was.

As a one time agnostic I wouldn't have got this film at all. Not anymore, now I do believe and I do get it, It's powerful and doesn't pull it's punches.
Many people believe in divine intervention, and It's a story about just that, adapted from the classic Shane, reworked and brilliant in it's narrative. Clint is magnificent in his grizzled hard character, that if pushed will meet force with force. Chris Penn is great as the son of the evil overlord, who runs the town and want's the poor folks land and claims to property, which is justly theirs. It's not soppy or sugary, quite harsh like the landscape it's located in. The subplots of characters relationships is handled well. It show's that the righteous are also flawed. When I was a teenager, many moons ago, I wasn't impressed, didn't get it at all, but hoots to that, I like it very much now time has passed.
