Black Butler: Emerald Witch Arc is the anime adaptation of the eighth story arc in the Black Butler manga, which will return to Crunchyroll on April 5, 2025, with more of CloverWorks’ high-quality animation. To add to the excitement of fans of Yana Toboso’s nearly twenty-year-old supernatural mystery series, it was recently announced that the manga will also finally be coming back from a months-long hiatus.

The Emerald Witch Arc is one of the most anticipated anime adaptations among fans of the Black Butler manga, as it forces Ciel to revisit his traumatic past once more and lays down major clues that lead up to the Blue Revenge Arc, which was left on a cliffhanger before the manga went on an indefinite hiatus back in August 2024.

Emerald Witch Arc is the eighth arc of the manga on which it is based and the fifth season of Black Butler after the Public School Arc, which went into production in 2023 and ran from April 13 to June 22, 2024.
