I understand that you might be hesitant or willing to write off the show, because of the way the story is going or the fact it doesn't have ash, but to be fair on the people and the story, it's geared towards children to begin with it, not to mention that it's more story driven and character focused not to mention a bit more realistic so of course the more experienced trainer would logically do more, and it's a new story and it's the first time the anime did something entirely different so you should at least give it that, i mean the worst reviewed episode was 6.7, which it's not that bad, of course, if you feel the show is bad i wouldn't blame you thinking that, because we all have our opinions, and this is my opinion as well, but please don't let the negative comments stop you from taking a look at least.

This show has a lot of things going for it. The biggest one is that it's actually based around a storyline and sets up a lot of intriguing mysteries, which is better than the constant filler viewers had to contend with in the original anime.
The start of the show was a bit shaky for me. The two-episode premiere felt quite dry, and the introduction of the show's conflict was too jarring. However, the show gradually picks up the pace, and in the meantime makes up for it with a concrete story that's worth following. The ideas for each episode are creative and exciting, the villains are actually calculating and threatening instead of being bumbling fools, and the characters' actions are thoughtful and intelligent. Whoever's writing this show, props to you, because this is an impressive take on the Pokémon franchise!
Kids will definitely enjoy this, it's got a cool adventure-y vibe! If you're a teen or adult checking the anime out again, it'll naturally feel like a kids' show, but the quality story and aforementioned adventure-y vibe might just keep you sticking around. Maybe I'm biased since I'm a fan of Pokémon myself (the games, not the anime), but it really is a refreshing, interesting change.

I like this one better than the previous one. The animation is very good and I like that the pokemon is increasing its animation afet the XY and XYZ series and the fight of Ash vs Leon. I want the fighting animation to remain like this. There will also be more audience. As a anine watcher, I also like the part where where this pokemon show is showing a mysterious pokemon. Please keep this type of mysteries in the show. My big brother is also watching with me and we are enjoying the show. Also excited to this what will happen next in the series. We are waiting eagerly. Please make it going like this.

Pokemon horizons is if not one of the best pokemon animes out there. It's a breath of fresh air from ash and pikachu, who quite deserved to go after over 25 years on the scene. This anime introduces a variety of protagonists, known as the rising volttacklers, and you're sure to find one to relate to! This anime focuses on a magical pendant and an ancient pokeball in the hands of the two main protagonists, with the evil team the "explorers" trying to steal those treasures. Our heroes travel around the world, from kanto all the way to paldea, in search of special pokemon owned by an ancient adventurer the ancient pokeballs originally belonged to. Not only is this an amazing plot, it is being executed amazingly.
As for the characters, like i said earlier, you're sure to find one to relate to. Whether it be the shy but brave liko, the upbeat and outgoing roy, or the reclusive and slightly moody dot.
Watch this show and give these new protagonists a chance, because you will love them.

Most of the people thinking pokemon horizon is not good because it doesn't feature ash Ketchum and Pikachu ,team rocket and ash's friends . But they are wrong the protagonist liko and Roy and other characters fullfill the without ash feeling .This show is relatable for new generation because it has rotom phone , online classes ,influencers etc . Pokemon horizon also features amazing animation and story and it reached peak in 18 th episode of this show. The story of black rakkuaza ,liko's pendent it's just amazing.and the backstory of liko's mother , captain Pikachu ,fride is good to . I heavily recommend you to watch this show .I bet you really gonna like this show.

This anime is one of the best I have seen before there was only Ash and Pikachu but now Liko Sprigatito Roy Fuecoco and Ash cameo with Pikachu is here. Freide is the most awesome character we ever saw in pokemon anime surpassing everyone there. Amethio is the best antagonist we ever saw with his ceruledge. I liked the story and animation of pokemon horizons and it is the best. I want all the characters from previous anime to return with a cameo so we can enjoy them too.

This is shocking news for those of me who grew up watching Ash. I won't say that the current Pokemon horizon series is bad but how would you feel if someone replaces your favorite hero like this? On the one hand, it is true that it will give a different fun to the new generation, but for me, the friendship that I saw between Ash and Pikachu draws us in even more. Hope we will find our old Ash in this new series. I don't know what others want but I don't want Ash to evolve or grow. I like it as it is. Please return Ash and Pikachu show your true feelings of friendship. The Adventure of Pikachu and ash.

That's amazing anime because you can watched the newest anime with the newly fresh story. Yeah we know that it's really hard that Ash(Satoshi) was replaced by the new MC Liko and Roy. But that's not make this anime is the worst pokemon anime. I mean look at new characters, they've a backstory that's reflected to who they are. There's more interesting characters, like Dot. She's my new favourite character because she's like me, the introvet. I wanna see more Adventures in the future(Maybe a new movie for them). Also the Villain(Team Explorers) is more relatable and more threating than the previous one(mainly Team Rocket) and I love them most.
And my conclusion is, I love their story goes on so far. I wanna say Thank you to all of you that've made this anime and the voice actors as well.

Pokemon horizons is the newest series of Pokemon and it's already better than the previous era i hope more people watch this show
It doesn't require one to watch other seasons just straight pick up this series and behold the peak pokemon.
All salty ash fans need to realise their idol ain't coming back and liko is already better than ash .
All side characters are too good man this gives me origins vibes.
This new journey type setup is also refreshing to see and it is executed much better than what the pokemon journeys did.
Characters feel real and relatable all villans are also peak like amethio and spinel.

This series has one of the best story writing in a Pokemon anime that I have ever seen because the plot in the beginning can be mysterious and vague but later on it would slowly start to unveil itself with many secrets about the lore in the series and the characters revolving around it. The characters are quite relatable with Liko being a shy and introverted protagonist while Roy contrasts Liko's personality by being more similar to Ash's personality. Dot is just really relatable,Friede is just really cool, and the rest of the Rising Voltackler's are also good characters as well. The villains are also really good with them being confident and also intelligent and ready to execute any plan they have into motion against the main protagonists.
Overall,I highly recommend to watch this series because it is appealing to old and new pokemon fans alike.
I know the series isn't finished yet but as of right now its a solid pokemon series.

The characters are bland and simply has a trope assign to them. They lack the dynamic & funny interaction you expect form kids anime characters. The show practically has no humor at all. The explore feels like a generic villains from Power rangers. Many episode are slow and dialogue-heavy. The animation quality went downhill after EP 04.. It simply lacks the charm that many other previous Pokemon series had in the past. There is no reason to watch this series outside of being another Pokemon anime.
Horizon simply abandoned everything that make Pokemon anime stand out compare to other generic edgy kids anime..

This by far the worst pokemon series ever. I am open to change but this ain't it.
First of all, the mc sucks people were already making memes about ash being eternally young 10 year old kid, but this is not much different they just changed the character design and brought another set of kids. Instead of these kids they could've brought alain from xyz or even a teenager who would have done even better than the current mc.
Next, Ash and Pikachu have been in "25 SERIES" so far the least they could do was give a proper conclusion to their story or even a movie with a time skip would be have been reasonable thing to do but no, they just just outright cut them off the series and replaced them. If they had done this most of the pokemon fans wouldn't be so mad at this change.
Finally, Most of the generation 9 pokemons are pretty mid compared to the previous generation. The old generation had better design and looked more unique. The current ones are just a redesigned crocodile, cat and duck there isn't even shred of ingenuity in these designs. Even their evolutions are dumb.

I've watched Pokemon Horizons Season 1 & 2 (Never been Boring)
A really fresh Start with Amazing Animation and Story
The Series is a big change for the Pokemon world. After so many years following Ash and Pikachu, this new series brings in two brand new main characters: Liko and Roy. And honestly, it works really well. The show feels fresh, exciting, and more emotional than before. Both the animation and the story are big improvements, and it's fun to watch whether you're new to Pokemon or have been a fan for years.
Animation: A Huge Improvement
Right away, one of the first things you'll notice is how beautiful the animation is. Compared to older Pokemon series, Horizons looks much more detailed and polished. The characters move smoothly, the colors are richer, and the lighting during battles or emotional scenes really stands out.
Battles in this series are way more exciting. Pokemon moves look more powerful, and the camera angles during fights make everything feel more intense. Captain Pikachu especially has some awesome fight scenes that show off just how good the animation has become. Even the small moments like wind blowing through trees is really detailed.
The airship the characters travel in is another cool visual element. It gives the series a unique vibe, almost like an adventure anime. There are also glowing effects, and ancient ruins that all add to the world and make it feel new and exciting.
Story: Deeper and More Focused
The story is where Horizons really changes things. Instead of going around collecting gym badges like Ash used to, Liko and Roy are on a different kind of journey. Liko has a mysterious pendant connected to something powerful, and Roy has an old Poke Ball linked to a legendary past. They travel with a group called the Rising Volt Tacklers-basically a team of explorers with a flying ship.
This series is more focused on long-term storytelling. Each episode connects to the next, so there's always a reason to keep watching. There are also real character moments, where Liko and Roy grow as people. Liko starts off shy and unsure of herself, but slowly becomes braver and more confident. Roy brings a lot of energy and curiosity, and his bond with Fuecoco is really fun to watch.
Season 2 builds on this even more. We get to learn more about Liko's family and why her pendant is so important. Roy also starts to discover the history behind his Poke Ball and the ancient Pokémon. The bad guys-called the Explorers-also become more interesting. They're not just "evil for no reason" characters. Some of them, like Amethio, have real depth.
One of the best things about this series is how it gives time for quiet, emotional moments. It's not just battle after battle. There are episodes where the characters reflect, talk, and grow closer. It feels more real, and it helps you care about them more.
Overall, Pokemon Horizons Season 1 and 2 are a great step forward for the franchise. The animation is the best it's ever been, and the story feels more meaningful than before. It's different from the old Pokémon series, but in a good way. It has emotional feel, mystery, adventure, and great visuals, never been boring.
If you're a long time Pokemon fan, you'll enjoy the new direction. And if you're new to the series, this is a great place to start. Horizons proves that even without Ash, Pokemon can still tell an amazing story.

The worst season ever expected. I want ash and his partner, instead this senseless season makes the name and.fame of pokemon season worse. Everyone expects ash to come in the next season as soon as possible but this season is dragging the episode count instead of starting a new season. I suggest by the next season start ash should appear and he should be a protagonist alongwith his partner and it should make the season continue and not to revolve around the new protagonists and even enhancing ash. The next season should be a balanced of characters i.e. Ash and his partner along with some characters from the previous season season, and a balanced amount of new characters including liko, roy and dot and their crew...So that i expect a very good reviews for the upcoming season.

I mean, It's Pokemon, it has Pokemon in it that's for sure.
I couldn't get past episode 5, and I tried, I desperately wanted this to be good. I got so bored of the original just following one kid around when they're working w/ an IP of countless possibilities. The amount of regions they could visit, the amount of occupations in this alternate world. You only get to experience it 2nd hand in the games, You know ppl have jobs like being taxi drivers, or electricians, but having to incorporate Pokemon into their work etc.
What does any of that have to do with this show? Nothing, it's just another Pokemon show. There's no originality, no World building, no creativity. Characters are bland, and the only reason why I gave it a 2 instead of a 1, is because the animation team did a phenomenal job.

Since April of 2023, I have anticipated that Pokémon Horizons already became a grave disappointment with signs of little to no improvement in the show's development, let alone progress in the story. Although I find Roy being likable in a nostalgic way, however I don't like any member in the Rising Volt Tacklers as if this show deliberately broke more than one canon event deriving from the Pokémon games. Even Friede tends to hinder this show's two protagonists' development in their character, especially intervene in their Pokémon battles even if they're losing. To be honest, Liko and Roy are the weakest link to any Pokémon protagonist. They can't be able to do a Pokémon battle right to be able to be part of an official league. Especially Liko can't teach Sprigatito a new grass attack other than leafage. It's the New Year and Lunar New Year is drawing even closer and neither Liko nor Roy made any proper progress other than attempting to find a place that might not exist at all. It's time to dive in to that universe and cast my first and final Judgment on the world of Pokémon Horizons and apologies in advance for spoilers.
Plot Spoilers The Rising Volt Tacklers take on a special job battling Pokémon Hunters in the Desert area to pay the bills. But, this job would not be as easy as they think. It's due to the matter of them being low on cash playing bodyguard for Liko's grandmother as well as the events after finding the giant Lapras and the black Rayquaza.
Liko's Lineage Just to be clear with assumed theorists, Liko is not Ash's child, nor Dawn's nor Serena's. This is an alternate universe and to be frank, Liko let alone her lineage is not even human. Blue eyes are one thing, but born with black hair with large streaks of blue along with the mysterious Lucius having to do with Terapagos along with this 'Rakua,' absolutely suspicious. Even the Explorers' Gibeon also holds a huge connection to Liko's ancestry and Rakua as if he and Gibeon are one and the same. If it be the case, then I'd be correct that Liko is no heroine, a world destroyer with Terapagos being the trigger for the end of the world by crystallization.
Repeated Mistakes I did state earlier that Pokémon Horizons has already become boring since episode 1 because of Liko and not even the 2nd opening would ever hope to be able to change my mind about the show as a whole along with being an absolute disgrace to the Pokémon Franchise. Realistically, I understand already that Journeys require money not just for food but also Poké Balls, medicine, etc. But I feel like it's rather a waste of time and space for Liko to continue doing school even with the Explorers chasing after her and Terapagos with her unchanging as the damsel in distress that she always being. Not to mention since Sun and Moon, the Pokédex explaining the Pokémon's type during the reading is rather a waste of data and info space and as for the character designs, very lazy and ugly especially with the rushed animation bad habit. That includes the hair overlapping eyebrows, eyes, and eyelashes with the outlines seen.
Putting all of the info above aside, let's talk about the current episode that would ultimately affect the show as a whole because of Liko and the Rising Volt Tacklers. During the episode for Liko's "Homework assignment," She assume that Friede and Captain Pikachu are to ideal duo. However, when it comes to Pokémon and trainer, the situation is more about a friend sometime get along with another friend and sometimes they don't situation. Another case and point that Liko failed to qualify as a Pokémon trainer once again resulting in a very boring show. When they came to the rescue, Friede is only here for the Bramblin but what about the rest of the wild Pokémon kidnapped? This is another major case and point where the Rising Volt Tacklers are actually pirates not adventurers. Even when it comes to battling against the Pokémon Hunters, Friede and his Pokémon are the only ones doing the heavy lifting while Liko and Roy are playing the roles of Decoy protagonists perfectly. Exhibit A is Roy have Fuecoco use ember while it should've use flamethrower for stronger damage and Liko still haven't teach Sprigatito a stronger grass move other than leafage. Exhibit B, Friede always find a way save the day in the end especially when Bramblin's evolving as well as taking the lead as if he's the real protagonist. Exhibit C, Liko and Roy rely too much on Friede and they can't do much of a thing to improve themselves nor progress the story in the right direction. Just like Journeys, just another random globetrotter as I suspected.
And to add insult to injury, Horizons make an absolute mockery of the whole Pokémon anime series but imitating Pikachu's tail high five with Ash. With lazy writing and extremely unoriginal work along with the open world gameplay from the Scarlet Violet source material sacrificing good story for random globetrotting, Pokémon Horizons has crossed the line for the very last time. Not to mention I don't say any trace of Officer Jenny meaning Rising Volt Tacklers really are avoiding the long arm of the law. This is where I really suspect them of being pirates along with their bad ending, the RVR rap. Plus, any more episodes would only further degrade on the show's quality.
Final Thoughts I have gave the show a bit of thought and give it one too many chance to try and redeem itself. Nonetheless, Pokémon Horizons, as I say for the umpteenth time, ultimately failed to deliver the show with good quality even with the new episodes afterwards. In the event that I would be able to work for the Pokémon Company, I would like to bring Ash and Pikachu back to correct the large mistakes invoke by Journeys and Horizons starting with retconning his status as world champion. Because I believe Ash has 2 more major regions that I have in mind for him before giving him a proper send-off. Not to mention his dream of being Pokémon Master is, without a doubt, far from over. Liko's existence is a grave mistake and I have no qualm placing her face along with the rest of the Rising Volt Tacklers on Wanted Posters with huge bounties on each of their heads.
As a result, once I work for the Pokémon Company, I will personally try to take helm for the Pokémon Anime and other projects while respecting the wishes of Satoshi Tajiri and the other creators who made the Pokémon Franchise possible. Pokémon Horizons along with Scarlet and Violet did the absolute opposite. At the same time, Pokémon Horizons have disappointed me for the very last time and its fate will be a very tragic one. I'm giving this episode and Pokémon Horizons as a whole a colossal 0.01 out of 10 stars. Like I said, my decision is final. Horizons became the ultimate disgrace to the Pokémon anime franchise with Journeys and to be a master in second place for that dishonorable mention.
