Netflix’s Devil May Cry series presents Adi Shankar’s take on the iconic hack-and-slash franchise with new lore but the same old characters. The series garnered much attention and debate soon after its premiere, with gamers being particularly excited to watch it.

While everyone liked how Dante was portrayed in the series, the new lore and the way the story changed the personalities of a few beloved series caught the gaming community off guard.

Being an ardent fan of the games, I was frankly surprised at how the non-gamers were able to enjoy such an inaccurate adaptation, but after much thought, I can see why Netflix’s Devil May Cry is the perfect adaptation for non-game fans.
