One of the interesting and relatively unknown characters set to make his big screen debut in James Gunn's Superman is "Mister Terrific." He first graced DC's pages in 1997's Spectre #54 (written by John Ostrander and illustrated by Tom Mandrake). On-screen, he will be played by Edi Gathegi and is supposed to be "the main character of those [other] characters [in the movie]."
Previously, he appeared live on the CW's Arrow (Echo Kellum) and had a few stints in animated projects, one was voiced by the Cosby-outing comedian Hannibal Burress.
For Black History Month, it's important to celebrate Bipoc heroes and villains because the writers and artists didn't hold back when it came to creating diversity among the legion of characters. They have been given amazing powers--some cosmic, others mutant, and a few elite humans. Mister Terrific is the third smartest character in all DC lore, next to Lex Luthor and the Atom, Ray Palmer.

The DC Legends of Tomorrow cast would all love to return one day, even if it's in a different universe.
Reassembling at a Megacon Orlando panel, Legends actor Caity Lotz, Brandon Routh, Arthur Darvill, and Matt Ryan were all asked what characters they'd like to play if James Gunn ever cast them in the Dcu timeline. In response, Lotz and Darvill selected Catwoman and Alfred Pennyworth, respectively, while Routh chose Superman, having previously played him in Superman Returns and reprised his role in Crisis on Infinite Earths alongside his Arrowverse performance as Ray Palmer/the Atom. Ryan, meanwhile, selected John Constantine, the role he played for nearly a decade across NBC's short-lived Constantine series, the Arrowverse, and multiple animated films, including the DC Animated Movie Universe's three-part Crisis adaptation.

From the very beginning, the DC Comics Universe has relied not only on its trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman, but countless other heroes, team-ups, crossovers, and events. But between the massive team-based books and solo adventures, there lies the real hideen gem: a two-way partnership or dynamic duo, allowing for anything from romance, to political differences, to stories that changed the medium.
DC's heroic partnerships cover a lot of ground, with some being more volatile, while others are simply wholesome. The company continues to experiment with these team-ups, as seen in comic book series like The Brave and the Bold, a title dedicated to unusual and enjoyable partnerships. From best friends fighting crime together, to husband and wife teams against the forces of evil, these are the best, brightest, and most iconic team-ups in DC history.

Since the very beginning, the DC Universe has made a name for its brilliant treatment of legacy characters, with the likes of The Flash and Green Lantern's rebooted heroes ushering in the Silver Age. Since then, it's become a normal occurrence to see iconic costumes and hero identities passed down to new generations in the aftermath of epic events and prominent deaths.
Contrary to expectations, many superhero mantles and identites have shared between numerous people at any given time. While some characters step in to fill the void left by a death, others have seized a vacant role for themselves. The response from readers to new characters taking up classic names can be mixed, but that only makes it more important to understand why these DC superheroes needed to be replaced, and who took up the title.

Season 1 of DC's Legends of Tomorrow followed Time Master Rip Hunter, played by Arthur Darvill, attempting to stop the time-traveling despot, Vandal Savage, with the aid of fan-favorite characters from within the still-young Arrowverse, including Sara Lance, Ray Palmer, and Mick Rory. The show was decisively unpopular, receiving many harsh reviews, and so, in Season 2, it changed its premise entirely.
DC's Legends of Tomorrow may have started like other shows in the Arrowverse, but it quickly evolved into one of the weirdest shows on television. Rather than the grim and serious story of a traumatized Time Master that it started out as, the series became centered around a group of time-traveling losers doing their best to protect time while engaging in constant comedic antics, TV and movie parodies and pastiches, and musical numbers, and writing out most of its DC characters. These are the weirdest Legends of Tomorrow moments of all across its seven-season run.

Giancarlo Esposito would consider joining the MCU an "honor," and he's particularly interested in playing Charles Xavier or Magneto from the X-Men. Esposito admits that "villains are fun" to play. Esposito raises the possibility of Moff Gideon returning as a clone in the Star Wars universe.
For some fans, Giancarlo Esposito will forever be synonymous with Breaking Bad’s Gus Fring, The Boys baddie Stan Edgar, or The Mandalorian’s Moff Gideon. However, there are those who wonder what role Esposito might tackle in a DC Comics or Marvel adaptation. One X user wrote they could see Esposito “killing it” in the role of DC’s Ray Palmer, aka Atom. The Atom was portrayed in the CW's Arrowverse by Brandon Routh, and, as it turns out, Esposito would consider it "an honor" to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And he's particularly interested in the X-Men characters Charles Xavier and Magneto.

Many DC actors have had successful careers after playing DC characters, with their portrayals often leading to other equally successful non-superhero roles. Some actors experienced career ups and downs after their DC roles, but eventually made big comebacks. The portrayals of iconic DC characters, such as Superman and Batman, have helped launch actors into household name status and opened up doors to other opportunities.

Actors who have played DC characters have frequently made a big impact in their roles, but also not strictly there.

The superhero genre and the rest of Hollywood are heavily affected by the recent writers’ and actors’ strikes, but that doesn’t stop the fans from asking questions about future projects and potential actors being cast as the new superheroes. In the case of James Gunn, his tenure in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was really successful, with the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy being probably the most consistent and best parts of the universe.
After the farewell of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 movie, Gunn became the best current director in the superhero genre. Of course, besides good research, storylines, and layered characters, Gunn likes to rely on people who were with him along the way and ultimate success, and the rumors of Chris Pratt appearing in DC Universe started to frequent in the entertainment industry – the co-ceo of the DC Studios might have confirmed them in a single Threads post.

It may be a mystery to most people in the DC Universe, but one surprising hero actually knows the origin of the Joker. When no one else had the power to save the villain's life, a certain Justice Leaguer discovered the Harlequin of Hate's surprising beginning.
While he's one of the most infamous villains in the entire Dcu, very little is known about the Joker, including where he came from. Over the years hints towards his past have emerged, such as him being a failed stand-up comedian or being a member of the Red Hood gang. But there's no confirmed origin for the Joker, leaving him one of the most enigmatic presences around. Having no true origin story has only helped sell the Joker as a disturbing villain, and has bolstered his reputation as one of the most mysterious DC characters to date.

With season 2 of Legends of Tomorrow, DC Comics’ original superhero team, The Justice Society of America, arrived on the CW. While it wasn't their first appearance on-screen (or even on the network), it served as the television debut for several classic characters, as they fight alongside our time-hopping heroes and protect the universe from temporal threats.
While some of the most popular Golden Age veterans of the team didn't show up, Hourman, Vixen, Doctor Mid-Nite, Stargirl, Obsidian, and Commander Steel played a pivotal role on the series. Given how integral they’ve been to the DC Comics Universe throughout the years, it’s quite possible that the Jsa might someday get their own series, thanks to their long and thrilling history full of twists, turns, and parallel worlds.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow didn’t start off being an off-the-wall ensemble, but as the various actors’ comedic talents lightened the dire circumstances, the producers pivoted and leaned into the absurdity. As a result, it became one of the freshest concepts on the CW, super-heroic action without as much angst (or shadow). When it worked, it was very entertaining but that came sporadically, oftentimes getting silly when they needed more restraint.
Still, the lovable ever-changing band of heroes has endured through seven seasons and unlike many shows, ended on a high note. All thirteen episodes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: The Seventh and Final Season can be enjoyed on the Blu-ray box set from Warner Home Entertainment.
When last we left our stalwart misfits, a Waverider popped into the sky and destroyed the Waverider they were using. Now stranded in 1925, they have to adapt and find a way home.
