After nearly a month in theaters, the action sequel starring Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal has grossed $90.2 million at the global box office, with $59 million coming from domestic markets and $31.1 million from international markets. The $59 million that The Accountant 2 has collected in the U.S. is just enough to push it past the total domestic gross of Joker: Folie à Deux, the colossal 2024 bomb that grossed only $58 million domestically. Joker 2 also added $149 million internationally for a worldwide total of $207 million, less than half of what it needed to reach its break-even point at the box office. Joker 2 also earned a "rotten" 31% score from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes.

The disfigured Mason Verger (Gary Oldman), Hannibal’s only surviving victim, is dead set on revenge and begins working with the corrupt and misogynistic Justice Department official Paul Krendler (Ray Liotta) to capture him.

You can’t catch something without bait, though, and Verger has the perfect person in mind to fill that role: Special Agent Clarice Starling (Julianne Moore).

Although The Accountant 2 still falls well behind the original by all metrics at the box office, the film recently found new life during its third weekend in theaters. The action sequel led by Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal scored another $6 million at the domestic box office this weekend, only a 36% drop after previously falling 61% after opening weekend. At the time of writing, The Accountant 2 has grossed $50.8 million at the domestic box office and $25.1 million internationally for a worldwide total of $76 million. While not record-shattering numbers, this $76 million total is enough to pass Death Race, the 2008 sci-fi thriller starring Jason Statham. Death Race finished its box office run with $36 million coming from domestic and international markets, leading to its amassing $72 million globally.

While The Accountant 2’s box office numbers won’t be remembered as one of the best of the year, it’s earned strong reviews from both critics and audiences.

When screenwriter Laeta Kalogridis came aboard to co-write Another Simple Favor alongside franchise veteran Jessica Sharzer, she was met with a difficult task.

A sequel to 2018's A Simple Favor, the new Another Simple Favor reunited Lively with several creatives, and she just received new support from original writer Jessica Sharzer in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Sharzer wrote the script for the first film, and co-wrote the second with Laeta Kalogridis. The sequel doubled down on the twists of the first movie, which had been a critical and commercial success.

A Simple Favor is back — however, it’s anything but simple.

Another Simple Favor, Paul Feig’s follow-up to the 2018 film, sees the return of Blake Lively as Emily, Anna Kendrick as Stephanie and Henry Golding as Sean, and follows their lives when Emily is released from prison after murdering her twin sister. The next adventure shows them reuniting in Capri to attend Emily’s wedding, where she marries a new man, Dante, who is part of an Italian mob.
