Per Japanese news site Oricon, Suzuki has officially left his previous representation at Tms Music to form his own talent agency, Dash On. As noted in a social media announcement, "Suzuki Ryota has decided to establish Dash On Co., Ltd. This year marks the 10th year since he began his career as a voice actor. Although he is still a novice, he wanted to explore new possibilities and see what kind of expression he can have in the future, and so has come to the decision to go independent."

Sailor Moon has a diverse cast of characters, and many of them have friends and romances. Some of them have such romantic chemistry that fans hoped to see them together. Even if they never ended up in an official pairing, that doesn't stop the audience from debating what could have been on fan forums or imaging a happily ever after for them in fan fiction.

Many of the fan favorite, non-canon pairings do have merit as potential couples. Either they were given extra scenes together in the original anime, which had many extra filler arcs, or it seemed like Naoko Takeuchi might have considered pairing them together but then didn't follow through. Nevertheless, many fanon couples make such sense that surely they could have stood the test of time.

Goku's first time becoming a Super Saiyan is easily one of the most iconic transformations in all of anime. Goku's guttural outburst of rage after seeing his friend Krillin killed at the hands of Frieza always sends chills down the spines of any Dragon Ball fan. Everything from the shots, the effects, and the dialogue are all instantly recognizable to viewers, from hardcore anime lovers to the general watcher. But as memorable as the scene is, it's not the first time an anime character has undergone a major transformation.

Plenty of anime from the 70s and 80s have characters undergoing iconic transformations in their own right. Like the Super Saiyan transformation, these sequences are as memorable as they are iconic. With how popular Dragon Ball continues to be, it can be easy to forget that other anime helped lay the foundation for the series' use of breathtaking displays of power.

Sailor Moon helped build the magical girl genre from the ground up. Both the manga and anime inspired common tropes found in nearly every series that followed it. Each of these movies can easily be a standalone from the other movies and the series, so new fans don't have to worry about messing up continuity. Plus, they fit snugly within the established Sailor Moon timeline, so fans who are more in the know can still appreciate how they expand on the universe’s lore.

The many different genres of anime showcase tremendous creativity, but a common trait in the medium is an unbelievably overpowered protagonist. There's a certain level of satisfaction in a strong hero who dominates on the battlefield. However, this superiority can come at the cost of tension and suspense.

There's a fine line between an overpowered main character who's so strong that fights stop being fun to watch and an individual who realistically grows stronger in tandem with the obstacles that they face. There's a lot of value in an underdog, but some satisfying anime feature ridiculously strong main characters who still manage to create excitement in different ways. Premiering over 30 years ago, the original Sailor Moon anime is still a classic that introduced a generation to the anime medium and magical-girl genre. Now, it's set to return to a nostalgic programming block that hosted the series many moons ago.

Via a social media post on Toonami's official Facebook page, the end of January will see Sailor Moon airing on Adult Swim's Toonami block. This announcement comes not too long after one version of Toonami was officially retired. While some exact details are still scarce, it's the perfect series to add to the revived retro programming, especially given one of the other shows that will be involved.

Tohru Furuya, the long-time voice actor for Yamcha in the Dragon Ball series, has been replaced following a scandal that surfaced earlier this year.

According to an official statement from the Dragon Ball Daima website, Ryota Suzuki will take over the role of Yamcha, starting with the first episode of the new series, set to air on Oct 11, 2024.

Although the website didn’t specify the reason for Furuya’s replacement, it comes in the wake of a controversial interview published by Shukan Bunshun, a Japanese weekly magazine, that exposed his involvement in a long-term extramarital affair with a fan.

The scandal escalated further with allegations of assault and coerced abortion, both of which were revealed by the fan during the interview. According to the interview, the fan came forward to ensure Furuya would not harm others in the same way.

However, to help avoid burnout and for health reasons, Aoyama has adopted a slightly different release schedule.

One Piece‘s latest episode 1116 has presented a beacon of relief to the series’ fanbase. The progressing Egghead Arc has eliminated the concerns related to the fate of Sabo, the second-in-command of the Revolutionary Army. Sabo’s survival has now been confirmed. The official social media accounts for One Piece confirmed that a new voice actor has been chosen for Sabo and will make his debut in this weeks episode of One Piece. Japanese actor and singer Miyu Irino will take over the role of Furuya in Episode 1116. Miyu Irino has been announced as the new voice actor for Sabo in One Piece anime. Irino will take over the role from Toru Furuya, starting with episode 1116, which will air on Aug 18, 2024.

Irino is known for his roles in Spirited Away as Haku, A Silent Voice as Shoya Ishida, Mob Psycho 100 as Ritsu Kageyama, Eyeshield 21 as Sena Kobayakawa, among others.
