Jennifer Ehle

Had a relationship with Colin Firth whom she met while filming Orgulho e Preconceito (1995).
Filmed scenes for the pilot of Game of Thrones (2011) as the character 'Catelyn Stark', however once the series was picked up she dropped out due to family commitments and was subsequently replaced by Michelle Fairley who re-filmed all her scenes.
Won Broadway's 2000 Tony Award as Best Actress (Play) for a revival of Tom Stoppard's "The Real Thing." One of her competitors who did not win was her mother, Rosemary Harris.
Has won two Tony Awards: Best Actress in a Play in 2000 for "The Real Thing" and Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2007 for "The Coast of Utopia". Both of these plays were written by Tom Stoppard.

I always thought of Orgulho e Preconceito (1995) as more of a romantic comedy than a period drama. It just happens that they were the clothes people wore when it was written.
[on trying to fit in after moving to Britain from America] There were a few days when I was having trouble finding words to express feelings of enthusiasm. But when I discovered "brilliant", I was fine.
[nudity in her first role] I wish I'd not taken off all my clothes in my first television series, The Camomile Lawn. When I took the job, I did not realize there would be so much nudity. But no one forced me to do it. I played the young Calypso (her English actress mother, Rosemary Harris, played the character as an older woman) and had some very full-on scenes. I went home one day and was physically sick.
[nude scenes] When The Camomile Lawn came out I was suddenly getting this image projected back to me of the "tempestuous Calypso." People seemed to think that was me, which was so completely... I didn't know how to handle it. I felt branded. If anything was written about me, it was always "Jennifer Ehle who took all her clothes off."
