Actor Mark Hamill is arguably best known for playing the role of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise. Hamill was mostly an unknown face when he debuted in George Lucas’ 1977 blockbuster. He later reprised the role in the further two installments of the original trilogy, leading him to new heights of fame.

However, Hamill’s face in the sequel looked significantly different. Between the release of his breakout hit and the critically acclaimed sequel, The Empire Strikes Back, Hamill was mangled in a terrible car accident that left his facial structure changed.
