"It Was a Full Circle Moment": 'The Pitt's Noah Wyle on The Surprising Connection to 'E.R.'

Noah Wyle knows his way around a hospital drama — and for fans of E.R., that’s an understatement. So it’s fitting that stepping into The Pitt, his newest medical series that just wrapped up its first spectacular season, came with a sense of déjà vu… in the best possible way. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Wyle revealed that his return to the world of medicine wasn’t just emotional, funnily enough, it was geographical.
Wyle stars in the lead role of Dr. Michael Robinavitch in The Pitt, Max’s first original medical procedural set at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center in Pittsburgh, the first time he's donned the scrubs as a medical professional in over 15 years, since his recurring role in the final season of E.R. And it was a return to Chicago County General when Wyle was prepping for the role — or the next best thing, as he revealed.
