If there’s one thing Naruto fans know best, its that he is a powerful ninja who made his mark as a Hokage. He dared to dream and he did achieve it. We commend Kishimoto for that. But there are things that even the Seventh Hokage fail at.

For instance, there are the Chunin Exams and then the bad leadership. No doubt, he is a strong and formidable shinobi of his time. He mastered Senjutsu and even perfected it better compared to his mentor Jiraiya. But even he cannot use this iconic and lethal S-rank nature release.

We fans have often debated whether he can perform Wood Release or not. He seems capable, so why can’t he use the kekkei-genkai? Well, some solid reasons behind it seem plausible for the most part. But also, it points to the retcons associated with Hashirama’s ability in the series.
