Black Widow was able to delve into the history of Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff, which introduced audiences to characters like Yelena Belova, The Red Guardian, and Taskmaster. The Thunderbolts seem to be following up on the story of Yelena Belova, and a bunch of other characters as well.

Long has it been speculated that the film is going to include Romanoff herself, who could return after her death in Avengers: Endgame.
