The DC Universe is beginning to take form. Under the tutelage of DC Studios' co-chairmen and CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran, the franchise has the potential to rival Marvel Studios' long-standing Marvel Cinematic Universe, bringing DC Comics characters back to the big screen after the previous Dceu was rested. And it all starts with Superman this summer.

The Dcu officially kicked off with animated series Creature Commandos last year, but the Man of Steel will officially help it take flight. And David Corenswet's portrayal of the legendary DC hero in the upcoming James Gunn-directed film will also pave the way for the arrival of his cousin, Kara Zor-El, a.k.a. Supergirl.
