Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX is the latest addition to the Gundam franchise, but it isn’t one to be taken lightly. It is the sixteenth installment, and not only looks promising, but plays the part. This is true for superb animation as well as the dream team behind the project.

We’ve got Hideaki Anno, the mastermind behind the famed cyberpunk mecha series Neon Genesis Evangelion. Then there’s Yoji Enokido, the famous screenwriter behind massive hits like Bungou Stray Dogs. But most of all, it reiterates Yoshiyuki Tomino’s brilliance in every aspect.

In the first episode itself, the series managed to gain traction through its themes. These resonated well with most mecha and cyberpunk enthusiasts and Gundam loyalists. It was a complete masterstroke that highlighted Tomino’s vision in every sense.
