Reba McEntire's new sitcom, Happy's Place, is set up to fix one of the big problems her early 2000s show experienced. Showrunner Kevin Abbott explained how Happy's Place is trying to get its romantic storylines to work properly.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Abbott, who created Happy's Place and was a showrunner for Reba Seasons 2-6, discussed why the new NBC sitcom's romantic lead has better on-screen chemistry with McEntire. "With the old Reba show, the one area that we just never did well was the love interest for the old Reba character. I'm sure I am much harsher on it than the audience, but for me, it was always like, 'Eh, I don't buy it. I don't believe it at all.'"
