New book release narrows down the premiere date for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Later this year, HBO will premiere A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, a new Game of Thrones prequel series. This one is based on the Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas by George R.R. Martin, about a knight named Dunk and his precocious squire, Egg. It's set decades after the events of House of the Dragon but decades before Game of Thrones, and has an altogether lighter tone than either of those stories.
Martin has written three Dunk and Egg tales so far, all of which are collected in a book called A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. The first season of the show will adapt the first book; it will have only six episodes and will air on HBO and Max later this year. We don't know exactly when that will be, but the consensus seems to be that it will be out in the back half of 2025. Now...
