10 Most Historically Accurate Anime Movies, Ranked

Historical movies are a great watch, whether the viewer is interested in history or just looking for something fun to occupy their time. There are many movies out there that contain historical events, costuming, or characters. However, not all of them are accurate. Some films portray the time period a lot more precisely than others, and some anime movies capture their time periods very well.
A lot of anime movies made in Japan focus on World War II and the atrocities that happened during that time. Movies like In This Corner of the World and Grave of the Fireflies are prime examples of WWII movies that are very historically accurate. Some anime films focus on other time periods and feature a solid amount of true fact to them. For example, Black Butler, while highly fictional, also depicts the Victorian era very well. More anime movies show samurai, princesses, and even prominent historical figures.
