What Truly Happened to the Shitennou in Sailor Moon?
In the '90s Sailor Moon anime, Usagi Tsukino transforms into the Pretty Guardian of Love and Justice, fighting to keep the world save from all forces of evil. One of the first villains she encounters on her adventures is Queen Beryl, a sorceress and commander of the Dark Kingdom.
Working for Queen Beryl were the four Shitennou, Jadeite, Nephrite, Zoisite, and Kunzite. While they are ultimately no match for Sailor Moon and the rest of the Sailor Guardians, the Shitennou have some of the most tragic fates in the series. Over different versions of the story, from the anime, manga and the Sailor Moon Crystal adaptation, the Shitennou's roles and final outcome vary significantly, making it hard to tell what truly happened to them after they crossed paths with Sailor Moon.
