The Office remains one of the most successful shows in TV history. The series ran for nine seasons, started careers for actors like Steve Carell and John Krasinski, and popularized the mockumentary style of sitcoms. It even achieved a record for most streamed minutes in a year in 2020 with viewers watching for 57.1 billion minutes, only to be toppled by Suits three years later.

It came as no surprise then when Peacock, where the series currently resides, announced a sequel to The Office. The upcoming show, titled The Paper, won't exactly be a direct sequel, moving away from the paper-selling offices of Dunder Mifflin with brand-new characters. However, there are plenty of reasons for fans to be excited, with beloved The Office characters returning and The Paper retaining the humor that made the original series so memorable.
