The 4th episode of Invincible Season 3 was divided into two sections. The first half unfolded in an alternate, futuristic version of Earth where Mark had supposedly crowned the Immortal as the emperor and left the planet with his family. Then the Immortal lost his mind and turned into a mad dictator whose robot army imprisoned or killed anyone who rebelled against him. When Fightmaster and Dropkick plucked Mark from his timeline and plopped him into theirs to deal with the Immortal, the latter revealed that he behaved like a genocidal maniac to get Mark’s attention and force the superhero to kill him. Mark hesitated, but after assessing the Immortal’s mental state, he decapitated him, because he knew that death would be a welcome gift for him.
