Shawn Levy’s Star Wars Film to Shoot in Fall 2025, Plot Changes Revealed; Two New Animated Shows in the Works for Disney+
Several exciting Star Wars movies are in the works, including ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ set for release on May 22, 2026, with Jon Favreau directing. Other upcoming projects include films by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, Dave Filoni, James Mangold, and Simon Kinberg, with some still in pre-production or development.

It appears Levy has made changes to the plot, with the original pitch set in the far future featuring an older Rey now being altered.
