Paramount’s Republic Pictures Takes WW Rights To ‘The Monster’ With Djimon Hounsou, Lauren Lavera, Mia Healey; Gina Philips & Rapper Prof Among Cast To Join

Exclusive: Paramount’s Republic Pictures label has boarded worldwide rights to horror The Monster, starring Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place: Day One), Lauren Lavera (Terrifier franchise) and Mia Healey (The Wilds).
Currently in production in Danbury, Connecticut, newly joining the cast are Gina Philips (Jeepers Creepers) in a first on-screen role in eight years, U.S. rapper Jacob Lukas Anderson, aka “Prof”, in a first ever screen role, Alicia Witt (Dune) and Neal McDonough (Band Of Brothers).
The Saw franchise’s Darren Lynn Bousman is directing from a screenplay by Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer (Steven Soderbergh’s Unsane). Pic was developed and is being produced by Lee Nelson and David Tish of Envision Media Arts (The Ice Road) alongside Saw franchise producer Mark Burg. Executive producer is Lukas Behnken. Co-producers include Jonathan M. Black and Lauren Black.
