What is a Christmas movie? There’s two possible answers to that question. It can be a Christmas-themed movie—with all the merriment of the festival. But it can also be a movie that is set around the time of Christmas, say a Die Hard, for example, or the very recent Terrifier 3. We are, of course, here to talk about That Christmas, Netflix’s latest Christmas offering—perhaps the first of this season. Directed by Simon Otto (known for his remarkable work as the animator in the How to Train Your Dragon franchise), it does fall under the Christmas-themed movie category, and despite being primarily for kids, it does boast of a stellar voice cast that has names like Brian Cox, Fiona Shaw, Jodie Whittaker, and Bill Nighy.
