Greta Lee (“Past Lives”) has joined the cast of Kent Jones’ “Late Fame,” and will star opposite Willem Dafoe (“Poor Things”), taking over from Sandra Huller. The project “May December” co-screenwriter Samy Burch and producer Killer Films.

Hüller has exited the project due to a scheduling conflict, according to MK2 Films which represent worldwide sales outside of North America. WME Independent, UTA Independent Film Group and Cinetic Media co-represent North American rights.

Lee will play Gloria, a mercurial theater actress whose magnetic personality and unpredictable allure upend the life of Dafoe’s Ed Saxberger, a former poet rediscovered by a group of young artists. The film explores the “illusory effect of praise on the soul, and the lingering ghostly presence of the past, whether it’s imagined or vividly remembered,” reads the synopsis.
