Developer/publisher Digital Cybercherries is still working away at their found footage game Paranormal Tales, but have also been putting the finishing touches on their short horror experience “scare simulator” in Don’T Scream. Originally release into Early Access last year, the developer has announced an October 28 1.0 release for Don’T Scream on Steam, which will arrive with “a whole host of improvements” to the game.

Don’T Scream is touted as a 90s found footage-inspired horror game, where you explore a mysterious forest for a terrifying 18-minutes (unless you’re too scared to move). The twist is that the game is played with your microphone calibrated so if you scream, whimper, jump, or even utter a minor squeak, you have to restart. Time only progresses as you move in Don’T Scream, and you can’t predict the scares. With dozens of dynamic scares, each playthrough offers a unique experience.
