'The Wild Robot 2' Is Happening: Director Confirms Sequel is in the Works!
The Wild Robot is continuing to wow audiences in theaters and now the director has confirmed that a sequel is in the works.
Heading into its third weekend at the box office, the animated film is expected to come in second place again for the weekend. It has already grossed more than $74 million at the domestic box office after just 15 days in theaters and over $111 million worldwide.
Director Chris Sanders confirmed the sequel plans during a discussion at Deadline Contenders in London on Saturday (October 12).

“100% yes there are absolutely plans for a second one,” Chris said.
Chris is a three-time Oscar-nominated filmmaker who previously directed Lilo & Stitch, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Croods. He also served a writer on Mulan and production designer on The Lion King!
