
Lacuna Coil Announce New Album Sleepless Empire, Unleash Single “Oxygen”: Stream

Italian metal veterans Lacuna Coil have announced a new album titled Sleepless Empire. In advance of its February 14th release, the band has unleashed the single “Oxygen.”
Earlier this year, Lacuna Coil released the collaborative singles “Hosting the Shadow” (featuring Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe) and “In the Mean Time” (featuring New Years Day singer Ash Costello). Both of those tracks will appear on Sleepless Empire, which contains 11 songs in total.
Regarding the new song and its accompanying music video, co-vocalist Cristina Scabbia stated, “‘Oxygen’ is a powerful exploration of emotional struggle and inner conflict. The lyrics convey a sense of drowning in a toxic environment, both literally (in the video) and metaphorically, where attempts at salvation, represented by ‘oxygen’ are somehow futile. This song encapsulates the feeling of struggling to break free from what holds us down, when the journey is filled with difficulty.”
