As I walked out of the movie theater, the first thing on my mind was: was this film really necessary? I mean, you might have noticed that Looney Tunes inspired the opening sequence, and to be honest, there wasn’t any other conflict in the entire film that the intro hadn’t already given away. The animated sequence of Joker 2 suggested that it wasn’t Arthur Fleck but an invisible shadow who had been using his disguise to bring terror and chaos to Gotham City. Even during Murray Franklin’s show, the shadow had locked Arthur in the closet and went to the stage in his attire in order to shoot Murray on live television.
