Netflix’s Uglies is one of the few films in cinematic history that really justifies its title. I mean, anyone who has read Scott Westerfeld’s book, on which the film is based, might not have high expectations from the film, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. Uglies‘ ending is especially horrible, where they have made some drastic changes from the book to reduce the run-time, which might be one of the reasons why the third act of the film feels so rushed. [Spoiler Alert] The climax of the film mainly focused on Tally Youngblood and her lover or crush, David, who decided to infiltrate Special headquarters in order to release The Smokies locked up there.
