Berserk Publisher Declares Studio Eclypse's The Black Swordsman Anime Illegal

Berserk publisher Hakusensha has released a stark statement declaring that Studio Eclypse does not have permission to produce its highly anticipated upcoming fan animation project, Berserk: The Black Swordsman.
In perhaps a surprise move on X (formerly Twitter), official Berserk manga publisher Hakusensha publicly called out fan project Berserk: The Black Swordsman's anime for copyright infringement. The statement released in Japan on Sep. 11, 2024, reads, "To our readers, the production of a Berserk animation is being announced on the following X account and website, but such production has not been authorized by Miura Kentarou (Studio Gaga), the copyright holder.
