As per Variety, news came out that the UK-produced sci-fi series Supacell has been renewed for Season 2 on Netflix. The victory lap was broadcasted by one of the co-stars not long after the streaming giant made their announcement Tuesday, Aug. 13 via social media.

Supacell is about a group of five ordinary people who inadvertently manifest superhuman abilities and have no connection barring that they are from South London and they are Black. They are brought together by teleporting delivery driver Michael Lasaki (Tosin Cole).

Created by Rapman, the sci-fi series held its No.1 spot on Netflix for six consecutive weeks globally following its debut on June 27. When this editorial was published, the series remained on Rotten Tomatoes Certified Fresh at 100% with a 73% Audience Score. Reviews have mostly been positive from Metacritic and the likes of Variety.
