Infections in 7 Days to Die happen after a bite from a zombie or hostile animal. There are four stages of infection which progress over the course of seven in-game days. If another Zombie attack happens, though, the infection progress speeds up. During Stage One of the infection, health and stamina arent affected. During Stage Two, stamina regeneration is affected by -25%. Stage Three results in -35% stamina regeneration and -1 to all other attributes. If left untreated, Stage Four results in immediate death.

Infections appear on the infection meter at the bottom left of the Hud. Once infected, the meter starts to rise. By Stage Three, the infection meter will read 100%.
