Easily-Missed Starfield Feature Finally Gets Rid Of The Settled Systems Worst Companion
Starfield features the Adoring Fan, a potentially annoying companion with high carry weight and unwavering loyalty. Players can banish, dismiss, or kill the Adoring Fan to rid themselves of his presence in the game. Starting a new game or a new Starborn run allows players to choose the Adoring Fan as a companion or avoid him altogether.
Starfield is filled with over a thousand planets and a host of characters to occupy them. There is no shortage of crew members to join the player on their Starborn journey, but one of the most contentious companions is the Adoring Fan. This character pays homage to a similar character who appeared at the completion of the Arena questline in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Like his namesake, he can also become an annoying thorn in the player's side.
While the Adoring Fan's praise can be endearing at first, the undying affection can quickly become suffocating.
