David Jonsson's Gus is absent from Industry season 3. Jonsson said that he left the show so he could spread his wings as an up-and-coming actor. The star has explored a variety of roles including playing a major character in Alien: Romulus.

A major character absence in Industry season 3 has been explained by the star behind the role. The British-American co-production follows the rivalries and alliances of the ambitious fresh-faced staff at the London investment bank Pierpoint & Co. There are quite a few members of the Industry cast who have appeared in every season, including Marisa Abela, Myha'la Herrold, Harry Lawtey, Conor MacNeill, and Ken Leung. However, when season 3 premiered on August 11, one glaring absence was David Jonsson's character Gus Sackey, who was a major presence in seasons 1 and 2.
