General Hospital has confirmed a new co-head writer. In May, the ABC daytime drama confirmed that Patrick Mulcahey, who began writing with co-head writer Elizabeth Korte, was out.

A Seasoned Team

Soap Opera Digest reported that Chris Van Etten returns to the show as Korte’s new co-head writer. Material penned by Mulcahey and Korte aired into the summer. The new associate head writer is Cathy LePard. She’d previously served as Gh’s Script and Breakdown Writer. The new writing team’s first episode airs today, Thursday, August 8th.

Executive Producer Frank Valentini told Sod, “No one knows General Hospital and its history more than Elizabeth and Chris. Cathy joined the show in 2023, and her talent and love for the genre has been a tremendous asset to this team. We look forward to this dynamic writing combination continuing the legacy of the show and giving our fans much to look forward to.
