Horror Sequel ‘In a Violent Nature 2’ Announced at SDCC

Producer Peter Kuplowsky announced today at San Diego Comic-Con that the indie film ‘In a Violent Nature’ will be getting a sequel, courtesy of IFC Films and Shudder. The original film, which screened at film festivals earlier this year and will start streaming on Shudder September 13, was envisioned as a “meta sequel,” Kuplowsky told the audience at The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror panel on Friday, July 26.
In the mind of director Chris Nash, as well as the film's producers, ‘In a Violent Nature’ was one of three or four movies about the slow-moving killer Johnny. However, they didn’t set out with the intention of making a sequel. However, something changed and the team behind this unique slow cinema horror film is now hard at work on the script for the next film.
“It’s not about checking boxes. It’s about [finding] the boxes we didn’t know were there,” Kuplowsky told the audience when discussing what excites him in a new horror movie. We look forward to seeing what comes out of those boxes when Johnny returns to wreak havoc on the screen once again.
