Fox News Media hires Katherine Meeks for general counsel role

Katherine Moran Meeks, a distinguished civil litigator with more than two decades of journalism and law experience, has been appointed to the general counsel role at Fox News Media, the company announced this week.
Meeks joins from the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where she was a partner and worked in the firm’s litigation division. She succeeds Bernard Gugar, who is stepping down from his role as Fox News Media’s General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Development.
“We are delighted to welcome Kate to Fox News Media and look forward to her tackling the legal intricacies of the ever-evolving media landscape,” Suzanne Scott, the President of Fox News Media, said on Wednesday. “We thank Bernard for his incredibly hard work and extensive contributions over the last three years and wish him the best of luck in his next role.
