Evil is still mischievous enough to keep us going around in circles, wondering if things are even going anywhere even though so much is happening. At this point, I think Robert and Michelle King’s show is aware of our frustration around all that gets left unresolved. Did you really think they weren’t going to use that to prank us further? “How to Build a Chatbot” only looks plain on the surface. There’s not much madness–not much confusion to keep us distracted from how the demonic families are slow poisoning the world. But that’s only because the sniper’s aiming close to the HQ now, and Evil is peculiarly subtle with the whole thing.
