Minions 3 Release Date Confirmed As New Sequel Continues Despicable Me Franchise's Tradition
Minions 3 is now confirmed and has a new release date. After the success of the first film in 2010, the Despicable Me franchise has become a major hit for Illumination Entertainment. The franchise grew to new heights with the release of Minions in 2015 and Minions: The Rise of Gru in 2022. Despicable Me 4's recent release in theaters and its box office success has only proven that interest in the franchise remains high.
Now, Variety reports that Minions 3 has been dated for June 30, 2027, continuing the franchise's summer release strategy. The upcoming installment will be written by Brian Lynch, who wrote the first Minions, and directed by Pierre Coffin, a veteran director in the franchise.
