Harald Hardrada was a legendary Viking king, and in the Netflix series, we saw how he took over the throne of Norway together with his nephew, Magnus The Good. Now, though the makers of Vikings: Valhalla have tried to stay true to the essence of the story of both the warriors, they have made some noteworthy changes to their storyline and portrayed both warriors in a slightly different light.

We saw that Magnus went to Jomsborg as an emissary of peace, and he made the people in Kattegat believe that he was just going there to bring back the body of his father. But Magnus had very different intentions, and he wasn’t motivated by the loyalty and love he pretended to have for his father. In reality, he wanted to take revenge on his father’s enemies and claim what was rightfully his, the throne of Norway.
