Chinese juggernaut Ne Zha 2 overtook Inside Out 2 in February as the top-grossing animated film of all time — mostly from a staggering estimated $1.89 billion in its home country alone. Mayoan expects the film to end its phenomenal run with $2.08 billion, which would make it the fifth-highest-grossing movie of all time worldwide.

Inside Out 2 amassed the highest global box office gross of 2024. Joined by Moana 2, it marked that year’s third release to surpass this milestone. Inside Out 2 has ascended to the top of the animated film box office, amassing a staggering $1.69 billion worldwide since its June 14 debut. Both animated films have joined the elite group, surpassing the billion-dollar mark alongside 55 other films.
