Kleks Academy is based on a Polish fantasy novel published in 1946 (Akademia Pana Kleksa), and it revolves around a magical school that only a chosen few are allowed to attend. The headmaster of the school, Professor Ambrozy Kleks, shapes and tunes the power of fantasy that the students possess. Conceptually, Kleks Academy, is somewhat similar to Harry Potter, but when it comes to execution, it falls flat. Many ideas are introduced, yet most are left unfinished. The magical world is impressive for a Polish production; I don’t think it is fair to compare it with a major Hollywood release. Overall, Kleks Academy had the potential to reach a wider audience, but its disjointed narrative is a letdown.
