Inside Out 2 Review: Anxiety & Envy Breathe New Life Into Formulaic Pixar Sequel
Anxiety and Envy bring chaos to Riley's mind, creating a dynamic battle of old vs. new emotions. Inside Out 2 retains charm and humor, expanding the world of Riley's mind in intriguing ways. While familiar, the sequel still stands out with strong voicework and a compelling storyline.
Pixar has a complicated history with sequels and franchise expansions. For every great one, there are a few that feel superfluous at best and just plain bad at worst. Thankfully, the studio's latest, Inside Out 2, leans more towards greatness than redundancy and even though it falls short of being one of Pixar's best films, it's a worthy addition to the animation giant's library.
