Amazon Prime Video's ambitious Citadel franchise is expanding rapidly, and there are already a ton of exciting updates about the first spinoff, Citadel: Diana. Brought to the small screen by the Russo brothers, Citadel concerns two spies who must fight to recover their memories and their lives after their organization is infiltrated by a powerful enemy. Perhaps one of the boldest plans in TV history, Prime Video launched 2023's Citadel with ambitious franchise goals in mind and wasted no time when revealing that a spinoff, Citadel: Diana, was already on the way.
Unfortunately for Prime Video and the entire team behind the show, Citadel seemed too big to fail but ultimately did. Ratings were down and reviews were equally middling, leaving the prohibitively expensive show twisting in the wind.
