Following Ubisoft’s announcement of Watch Dogs, the game was one of the most-anticipated titles of 2014. The first game was off to a good start and sold over 10 million units by the end of 2014. However, the sequel failed to meet the expectations of Ubisoft.

Watch Dogs 2 took nearly four years to sell as many units as its predecessor. Therefore, Ubisoft tried to reignite the players’ interest with a third game.
